Josh Smead for Congress: Missouri’s 6th District

Family. Freedom. Future.

I am a proud Democrat running for Congress who will prioritize the voices of north Missouri. I believe stronger infrastructure, expanded access to healthcare, and equal opportunities for all will help build a strong north Missouri where people want to build their lives, families, and businesses.

If we can regain control of the House of Representatives, we can positively alter the course of our great country and shift the focus from the wealthy to the middle class.

Join me in the effort to flip control of the House in 2026. It’s time for a new generation of legislators!

Building a Missouri that supports communities and businesses.

  • Every Missourian should have emergency and basic care within a one-hour drive, with targeted support for underserved and rural communities.
  • No family should have to leave their community to access maternity and family healthcare.
Residency programs should be updated, expanded, and directed toward rural hospitals and underserved communities.
  • Healthcare data laws should allow secure, real-time coordination between providers to reduce delays and costs.
  • Every family should have access to high-quality, universal pre-kindergarten to give children a strong start.
  • Public education funding belongs in public schools, not private or religious institutions.
  • Teachers in rural and high-need areas should receive additional financial incentives through a national bonus program.
  • Every community deserves access to reliable, high-speed rural broadband.
  • Family farms come first, not hedge funds buying up agricultural land, with reforms that keep ownership local and reward the people who work the land.
  • Affordable housing should be built in underemployed and rural communities so families can live, work, and build their future where they are.
  • Food access should be strengthened, with programs like SNAP making sure no child or family goes hungry.
  • Equal rights under the law should be guaranteed, with renewed effort to adopt the Equal Rights Amendment.
  • Elections should be decided by the people, not those with money, through a constitutional amendment clarifying that money is not the same as free speech and can be regulated.
  • The Second Amendment is worth protecting while we work to lower firearm deaths in America.
  • Immigration enforcement should be lawful, transparent, and centered on due process, with resources focused on courts instead of mass detention centers.
  • The number of Representatives in Congress needs to be uncapped and updated to reflect America’s growing population.

MILES TRAVELED

For too long, north Missouri has lacked leadership that listens to them and fights for polices that truly matter to our communities. This campaign is about showing up for Missouri both in Washington and at home.
